This Master study program is designed for nursing professionals and healthcare practitioners who seek to develop advanced leadership and research expertise in services supporting individuals with learning disabilities. Positioned at a study level equal to EQF Level 7 and aligned with the Second European Cycle, the program reflects high academic standards and professional specialization within inclusive and person-centered healthcare systems.
As a 100% research-based program, it emphasizes evidence-based leadership, ethical practice, and strategic service development in learning disability care settings. Participants critically explore areas such as inclusive healthcare policy, safeguarding frameworks, multidisciplinary coordination, advocacy, quality assurance systems, risk management, and long-term care strategies tailored to individuals with cognitive and developmental challenges.
The academic structure consists of five integrated modules designed to balance research excellence with applied leadership competence:
Two research-focused modules developing advanced skills in research methodology, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, academic writing, and applied investigation within disability healthcare contexts.
Two general modules strengthening leadership theory, organizational management, healthcare governance, and strategic planning in complex service environments.
One specialized module in Nursing Management (Learning Disabilities) addressing service leadership, person-centered care models, behavioral support strategies, ethical decision-making, workforce coordination, and performance improvement within disability-focused healthcare services.
The program culminates in a thesis and structured research activities, enabling participants to conduct in-depth research addressing real-world challenges in learning disability nursing management and to generate meaningful, practice-oriented solutions.
With a minimum duration of 12 months and flexible study options, participants may extend their academic timeline in accordance with professional commitments. The program carries an academic workload equal to 60 ECTS, reflecting its advanced academic rigor and professional depth.
