The Master in Law and German is a 100% research-based master study program designed for graduates and professionals who aim to deepen their expertise at the intersection of legal studies and the German language. This Master study program is academically positioned at a level equal to EQF Level 7 and corresponds to the 2nd European cycle of higher education.
The program focuses on developing advanced analytical, research, and academic writing skills within legal contexts that require strong German linguistic competence. It is particularly suited for those interested in comparative law, German legal terminology, legal translation, European legal systems, cross-border legislation, policy analysis, and the interaction between law and language in international environments.
The academic structure consists of five modules, including:
Two research-focused modules dedicated to research methodology, applied legal research, and academic writing.
Two general modules aimed at strengthening interdisciplinary knowledge, ethics, and academic competencies.
One specialized module in Law and German, concentrating on legal systems, German legal discourse, and professional applications of legal language.
The program culminates in a thesis and structured research activities that enable students to produce academically sound and professionally relevant work.
The minimum duration of this Master study program is +12 months, with flexibility allowing students to extend their study period according to their academic or professional commitments. The program carries a workload equivalent to 60 ECTS credits.
