This Master study program is designed for learners who want to develop advanced knowledge in broadcast journalism, newsroom practice, and news production through a flexible and research-oriented academic pathway. It is a 100% research based program that supports critical thinking, independent investigation, and applied understanding of how news is created, produced, managed, and communicated across contemporary media environments.
The study level is equal to ISCED / EQF level 7. ISCED stands for the International Standard Classification of Education, which is a global framework used to classify education levels. EQF stands for the European Qualifications Framework, which helps compare qualifications across Europe. At this level, students are expected to build highly specialized knowledge, advanced analytical skills, and strong professional judgment within their field of study.
The program is structured with 5 modules, including 2 research related modules, 2 general modules, and 1 module focused on Broadcast Journalism and News Production, followed by thesis and research activities. This structure allows students to strengthen their academic research abilities while also gaining deeper insight into journalism ethics, media systems, editorial strategy, news writing, broadcast formats, production workflows, and the changing nature of digital and televised news.
