The Master in Culinary and Halal/Kosher is a 100% research-based postgraduate program designed for professionals and academics who aim to develop advanced expertise in culinary sciences, food compliance systems, and religious dietary standards within a global context.

This program focuses on the academic, regulatory, cultural, and operational dimensions of Halal and Kosher food systems, integrating culinary innovation with international compliance frameworks, food safety, sustainability, hospitality management, and cross-border food trade. It prepares graduates to lead in hospitality, food production, certification bodies, policy advisory roles, and academic research.


Study Level and Academic Framework

  • Study Level: Equivalent to EQF Level 7

  • European Structure: Equal to the Second Cycle (Master Level) within the European Higher Education Area

  • ECTS: Equivalent to 60 ECTS

  • Duration: Minimum 12 months (Flexible structure allows students to extend the duration according to research needs and professional commitments)


Program Structure

The program consists of five academic modules plus thesis and research activities:

  • 2 Research-Focused Modules Covering advanced research methodology, academic writing, data analysis, and applied research design in culinary and dietary compliance systems.

  • 2 General Academic Modules Covering global food systems, sustainability, hospitality governance, regulatory frameworks, and international standards.

  • 1 Specialized Field Module Focused specifically on Culinary Innovation within Halal and Kosher frameworks, certification systems, supply chain compliance, religious jurisprudence basics, and cross-cultural food management.

  • Master Thesis & Research Activities Students conduct an independent research project contributing to the academic or professional field of Culinary and Halal/Kosher studies. The thesis emphasizes innovation, compliance strategy, quality assurance, or sustainable food systems.
