This Master study program is a 100% research-based academic pathway designed for professionals and graduates seeking to advance their expertise in visual communication, media strategy, design research, and digital storytelling. Positioned at a level equal to EQF Level 7, the program corresponds to the second European cycle and is structured to develop advanced analytical, conceptual, and research-driven competencies in the field of visual communications.
Visual communications plays a central role in today’s digital and media-driven world, influencing branding, public discourse, corporate identity, user experience, advertising, and cultural narratives. This Master study program equips participants with the ability to critically analyze visual systems, design strategic communication frameworks, and conduct independent research that integrates theory, creativity, and technological innovation.
The academic structure consists of five modules, carefully designed to balance research excellence with field specialization:
Two research-related modules focusing on research methodology, academic writing, visual analysis frameworks, and qualitative and quantitative research methods
Two general modules addressing communication theory, digital transformation, innovation strategy, and global media environments
One specialized module dedicated to visual communication systems, digital design strategies, branding, visual identity development, and multimedia storytelling
In addition, participants complete a substantial thesis and engage in structured research activities demonstrating their ability to contribute original insights to the evolving field of visual communications.
The duration of the program is minimum 12 months, with flexibility for extension according to research development and professional commitments. The program is academically equivalent to 60 ECTS credits, ensuring alignment with European higher education standards.
