Master in Sustainable Engineering

This Master study program is a 100% research-based academic pathway designed for professionals and graduates who seek to develop innovative engineering solutions that balance technological advancement with environmental responsibility. Positioned at a level equal to EQF Level 7 and aligned with the second European cycle, the program carries an academic workload equivalent to 60 ECTS.

The Master in Sustainable Engineering integrates advanced engineering principles with sustainability frameworks, enabling participants to design, evaluate, and optimize systems that reduce environmental impact while enhancing efficiency and long-term performance. The program emphasizes resource efficiency, lifecycle analysis, green materials, energy optimization, environmental impact assessment, and sustainable infrastructure development within industrial and urban contexts.

The academic structure consists of five modules, including:

  • Two research-oriented modules dedicated to advanced research methodologies, quantitative and qualitative engineering analysis, environmental modeling, academic writing, and critical evaluation of sustainable engineering practices.

  • Two general academic modules focusing on strategic leadership, innovation management, environmental governance, systems thinking, and organizational development in technology-driven sectors.

  • One specialized module in Sustainable Engineering, concentrating on sustainable design principles, renewable energy integration, circular economy models, green construction technologies, carbon footprint reduction strategies, smart infrastructure systems, and emerging sustainable technologies.

The program concludes with a thesis and structured research activities, enabling participants to produce original research contributions that address real-world sustainability and engineering challenges.

With a minimum duration of 12 months, the program offers structured academic progression combined with flexibility, allowing students to extend their study period according to research development and professional commitments.

This Master study program is designed for engineers, sustainability consultants, project managers, environmental analysts, infrastructure planners, and technology innovators who aim to strengthen their research and strategic capabilities in sustainable engineering fields.
