This Master study program is a research-intensive academic pathway designed for professionals and aspiring leaders in the fields of sport performance, fitness science, and advanced coaching methodologies. Aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) Level 7, and equivalent to the second cycle of European higher education, the program offers a structured yet flexible environment for critical inquiry, evidence-based practice, and applied research in sport and human performance.
Built as a 100% research-based program, it encourages participants to explore contemporary challenges in sport science, athletic development, performance optimization, injury prevention, sports psychology, leadership in coaching, and fitness innovation. Students engage in analytical and investigative work that bridges theory and professional practice, contributing to the advancement of sport and fitness knowledge at national and international levels.
The program consists of five structured modules:
Two research-focused modules dedicated to research design, academic methodologies, and applied investigation in sport and fitness contexts.
Two general academic modules supporting advanced analytical thinking, strategic management, and interdisciplinary understanding.
One specialized module directly focused on Sport, Fitness and Coaching, addressing performance science, training systems, coaching leadership models, and athlete development frameworks.
In addition, students complete a comprehensive thesis and engage in research activities that demonstrate mastery of scientific inquiry and professional relevance within the field.
The duration is minimum 12 months, with flexibility for extension to accommodate professional commitments and research development. The program carries a workload equivalent to 60 ECTS credits, ensuring academic rigor and alignment with European higher education standards.
