The Master in Software Systems Management is an advanced, research-focused master study program designed for professionals and graduates who seek to combine technical expertise in software systems with strategic management capabilities. Positioned at a study level equivalent to EQF Level 7 and aligned with the second European cycle, the program corresponds to 60 ECTS, reflecting strong academic standards and international comparability.

This master study program is 100% research based, emphasizing analytical depth, innovation, and evidence-based decision-making within complex technological environments. It prepares participants to explore the strategic planning, governance, optimization, and lifecycle management of modern software systems while integrating principles of leadership, risk management, digital transformation, and organizational performance.

The academic structure consists of five carefully designed modules, ensuring a balanced integration of research, management, and technological expertise:

  • Two research-focused modules dedicated to advanced research methodology, technology-driven innovation, data-informed strategic analysis, and systems evaluation frameworks.

  • Two general modules aimed at strengthening academic writing, research ethics, leadership theory, project governance, and interdisciplinary management approaches.

  • One specialized module in Software Systems Management, focusing on enterprise architecture management, IT strategy alignment, digital infrastructure planning, cybersecurity governance, and performance optimization.

  • In addition, participants complete a substantial thesis and research activities, demonstrating their ability to analyze, design, and manage complex software ecosystems using structured research methodologies.

The minimum duration of the program is +12 months, with flexibility that allows participants to extend their study period according to professional or personal commitments. This flexibility makes the program particularly suitable for IT managers, system architects, digital transformation leaders, and technology consultants seeking to strengthen both their academic and strategic profiles.

The Master in Software Systems Management prepares participants for advanced roles in IT governance, enterprise systems management, digital strategy leadership, cloud infrastructure oversight, cybersecurity management, and technology-driven organizational transformation. It also provides a strong academic foundation for those considering further research-oriented studies.

By combining research excellence, technological insight, and management competence, this master study program equips graduates to lead complex software environments, align digital systems with organizational goals, and drive innovation in a rapidly evolving digital economy.
