The Master in Software Systems is an advanced and research-focused master study program designed for graduates and technology professionals seeking to deepen their expertise in the design, development, analysis, and management of complex software environments. Positioned at a study level equivalent to EQF Level 7 and aligned with the second European cycle, the program corresponds to 60 ECTS, reflecting strong academic rigor and international standards.

This master study program is 100% research based, emphasizing analytical thinking, innovation, and structured problem-solving within modern software ecosystems. It prepares participants to explore advanced topics such as software architecture, distributed systems, secure systems design, cloud computing environments, system integration, performance optimization, and emerging software technologies. The program combines theoretical foundations with applied research to address real-world technological challenges.

The academic structure consists of five carefully designed modules, ensuring balanced academic depth and research competence:

  • Two research-focused modules dedicated to advanced research methodology, system modeling, software engineering research design, and technical innovation.

  • Two general modules aimed at strengthening analytical reasoning, academic writing, technology management principles, and research ethics.

  • One specialized module in Software Systems, focusing on advanced software architecture, system scalability, reliability engineering, and modern development frameworks.

  • In addition, participants complete a substantial thesis and research activities, demonstrating their ability to design, analyze, and evaluate complex software solutions within structured research frameworks.

The minimum duration of the program is +12 months, with flexibility that allows participants to extend their study period according to professional or personal commitments. This makes the program particularly suitable for working professionals seeking to upgrade their academic profile while maintaining career continuity.

The Master in Software Systems prepares participants for advanced roles in software engineering, systems architecture, DevOps leadership, enterprise systems development, cybersecurity environments, cloud infrastructure management, and technology research. It also provides a strong academic pathway for those who intend to pursue further research-oriented studies.

By combining research intensity, technical depth, and international academic alignment, this master study program equips graduates with the expertise required to design resilient, scalable, and innovative software systems in a rapidly evolving digital world.
