This Master study program is a 100% research-based academic pathway designed for graduates and professionals who seek advanced analytical, theoretical, and methodological expertise in the field of Sociology. Positioned at a study level equal to EQF Level 7 and aligned with the second European cycle, the program provides an academically rigorous environment for exploring complex social structures, institutions, identities, inequalities, and global transformations.
The Master in Social Sciences (Sociology) focuses on developing high-level critical thinking, advanced research competence, and interdisciplinary understanding of contemporary societies. Participants engage deeply with classical and modern sociological theories, quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, social policy analysis, globalization studies, digital societies, cultural dynamics, migration, governance systems, and social change processes. The program is particularly suitable for those aiming to contribute to academic research, policy development, institutional strategy, or social innovation initiatives.
The structure consists of five modules:
Two research-focused modules designed to strengthen advanced methodological and analytical skills.
Two general academic modules supporting interdisciplinary knowledge, ethical frameworks, and scholarly communication.
One specialized module dedicated specifically to Sociology and advanced social sciences topics.
In addition, participants complete a substantial thesis and structured research activities, demonstrating the ability to design, conduct, and present independent academic research at an advanced level.
The duration is +12 months (minimum duration), with flexibility for extension according to individual research progress. The program workload is equivalent to 60 ECTS credits, reflecting the academic standards of the second European cycle.
