This Master study program is a fully research-based academic pathway designed for professionals seeking advanced expertise in port administration, terminal operations, maritime logistics, and global trade coordination. Positioned at a study level equal to EQF Level 7 and aligned with the 2nd European cycle, the program focuses on analytical, strategic, and research-driven competencies essential for managing modern port ecosystems in an increasingly interconnected world.
With a total academic workload equivalent to 60 ECTS and a minimum duration of 12 months (with flexible extension options), the program supports working professionals aiming to strengthen their leadership and operational capabilities within maritime and port environments.
The academic framework consists of five integrated modules, including:
Two research-focused modules that develop advanced skills in research methodology, quantitative and qualitative analysis, port performance evaluation, logistics modeling, and evidence-based decision-making.
Two general modules addressing strategic management, international trade systems, sustainability governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management in maritime infrastructure.
One specialized module in Maritime Port Management, covering port planning and development, terminal optimization, cargo handling systems, smart port technologies, port security frameworks, environmental management in ports, public–private partnerships, and global supply chain integration.
The program concludes with comprehensive thesis and research activities, enabling participants to investigate contemporary challenges such as port congestion mitigation, digital transformation of port systems, green port strategies, infrastructure investment planning, resilience against global trade disruptions, and regulatory modernization in maritime hubs.
