This Master study program is a 100% research-based academic pathway designed for graduates who seek advanced expertise in the scientific study of language, communication, and linguistic systems. Positioned at a level equal to EQF Level 7 and aligned with the second European cycle, the program provides a rigorous framework for analytical thinking, theoretical exploration, and applied linguistic research.
The Master in Linguistics focuses on the structural, cognitive, social, and functional dimensions of language. Participants engage with contemporary debates in phonetics and phonology, morphology and syntax, semantics and pragmatics, sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, language acquisition, and comparative linguistics. Emphasis is placed on developing independent research competence, critical evaluation of linguistic theories, and the ability to design and conduct high-quality academic investigations.
The program consists of five structured modules:
Two research-oriented modules dedicated to advanced research methodologies, academic writing, data collection, and qualitative and quantitative analysis in linguistic inquiry.
Two general modules aimed at strengthening interdisciplinary awareness, critical thinking, and broader academic competencies.
One specialized module in Linguistics focusing on advanced theoretical and applied dimensions of language studies.
These modules are complemented by thesis development and research activities, enabling participants to produce an original and academically rigorous research contribution in the field of Linguistics.
With a minimum duration of 12 months and flexible study progression, the program allows professionals and researchers to balance academic advancement with personal and professional commitments. The workload is equivalent to 60 ECTS credits, ensuring compatibility with European higher education standards.
