This Master study program is an advanced, research-intensive academic pathway designed for professionals and graduates seeking to deepen their expertise at the intersection of legal studies and the French language. Equal to EQF Level 7 and aligned with the second European cycle, the program integrates legal theory, comparative legal systems, and advanced French linguistic and legal communication skills within a structured research framework.
The Master in Law and French is a 100% research-based program, enabling participants to critically examine legal frameworks, jurisprudence, and policy developments in Francophone contexts. It is particularly suitable for those aiming to work in international law, cross-border legal environments, diplomatic services, multinational corporations, arbitration, or legal consultancy where French legal terminology and systems play a central role.
The academic structure consists of five modules:
Two research-focused modules that develop advanced methodological competence, academic writing skills, and analytical capacity.
Two general modules that strengthen interdisciplinary understanding, critical reasoning, and academic communication.
One specialized module in Law and French, focusing on comparative legal traditions, French legal terminology, and the interpretation of legal texts within Francophone jurisdictions.
In addition, participants complete a substantial thesis and structured research activities that demonstrate independent scholarly capability and applied legal-linguistic expertise.
The standard duration is +12 months (minimum duration), with flexibility allowing participants to extend their study period when needed. The program workload is equivalent to 60 ECTS credits.
