Master in Islamic Economics and Finance

This Master study program is a specialized, 100% research-based academic pathway designed for professionals and graduates who wish to deepen their expertise in Islamic Economics and Finance within a global context. The program is academically structured at a level equal to EQF Level 7, corresponding to the second European cycle, and carries an academic workload equal to 60 ECTS.

The program focuses on advanced theoretical foundations, applied financial analysis, and independent research in areas such as Islamic banking systems, Shariah-compliant financial instruments, risk management, ethical investment models, sustainable development frameworks, and comparative economic systems. It prepares participants to critically examine contemporary financial markets while aligning economic practices with Islamic ethical and legal principles.

The academic structure includes five modules:

  • Two research-related modules focusing on research methodology, academic writing, data analysis, and applied economic investigation.

  • Two general modules designed to strengthen advanced analytical thinking, global economic understanding, and interdisciplinary perspectives.

  • One specialized module dedicated specifically to Islamic Economics & Finance, addressing core concepts such as Sukuk, Takaful, Islamic banking operations, governance, and financial innovation.

The program culminates in a comprehensive thesis and structured research activities, allowing participants to demonstrate advanced academic competence, independent analysis, and original contribution to the field.

With a minimum duration of 12+ months, participants benefit from flexibility to extend their study period according to professional and personal commitments. This format makes the program particularly suitable for working professionals, financial consultants, bankers, policymakers, researchers, and entrepreneurs seeking deeper academic engagement in Islamic financial systems.
