This Master study program is designed for learners who want to develop advanced research, analytical, and communication skills in the fields of investigative journalism, media inquiry, and public communication. It is a 100% research based program that supports critical thinking, independent study, and the development of academically grounded knowledge in how information is investigated, interpreted, and communicated to the public. The program is suitable for those who wish to explore complex media environments, public discourse, ethical reporting, and the strategic role of communication in modern society.
The study level is equal to ISCED / EQF level 7. ISCED stands for the International Standard Classification of Education, a global framework used to classify education levels in a clear and comparable way. EQF stands for the European Qualifications Framework, which helps compare qualifications across Europe by defining learning levels based on knowledge, skills, and competence. At this level, students are expected to demonstrate advanced knowledge, strong analytical ability, and the capacity to conduct independent academic and professional research.
This Master study program includes 5 modules in total: 2 research related modules, 2 general modules, and 1 module focused on the study field, followed by thesis and research activities. The structure is designed to provide a balanced academic experience that combines research methodology, interdisciplinary understanding, and specialized knowledge in investigative journalism and public communication. Through this model, students strengthen their ability to examine public issues, evaluate sources, understand communication strategies, and produce academically informed work related to journalism, media systems, and public engagement.
The minimum duration of the program is +12 months. At the same time, students benefit from flexibility and may extend the study period based on their personal schedule and academic progress. The program is equal to 60 ECTS and is positioned as equal to the 2nd European cycle, reflecting an advanced level of higher education study within the European framework.
