This Master study program in Interior Design is a 100% research-based academic pathway designed for designers and creative professionals seeking to deepen their theoretical knowledge, research capabilities, and strategic thinking within the field of spatial design. Positioned at a study level equal to EQF Level 7, the program corresponds to the Second European Cycle and carries a workload equivalent to 60 ECTS, aligned with international academic standards.

The program explores interior design as both a creative discipline and a research-driven practice. It critically examines spatial theory, human-centered design, sustainability in interiors, material innovation, lighting strategies, environmental psychology, and the cultural impact of built environments. Emphasis is placed on analytical inquiry, conceptual development, and the integration of aesthetics, functionality, and social responsibility in contemporary interior spaces.

The academic structure consists of five modules, including:

  • Two research-focused modules dedicated to advanced research methodology, spatial analysis, academic writing, and design inquiry.

  • Two general modules strengthening interdisciplinary perspectives, critical thinking, and strategic project development.

  • One specialized module in Interior Design focusing on advanced spatial planning, sustainable design systems, innovative materials, and contemporary interior concepts.

The program culminates in a substantial research thesis and structured research activities that demonstrate originality, analytical rigor, and meaningful contribution to the field of interior design and spatial innovation.

With a minimum duration of +12 months and flexible extension options, this Master study program is designed to accommodate practicing interior designers, architects, consultants, project managers, and creative entrepreneurs who wish to elevate their academic and professional profile while maintaining active industry engagement.

Graduates develop advanced competencies in spatial research, sustainable design strategy, material innovation, environmental analysis, and conceptual leadership, preparing them for senior roles in design studios, architectural firms, consultancy practices, academic environments, and independent ventures.
