The Master in Hospital Management is a master-level study program designed for learners who want to develop advanced knowledge in healthcare administration, hospital governance, service quality, operational improvement, and research-based decision-making in healthcare environments. This Master study program is especially suitable for professionals, administrators, managers, and future leaders who wish to strengthen their academic and practical understanding of how hospitals and healthcare institutions are managed in modern and complex settings.
This is a 100% research-based program, which means the learning approach places strong emphasis on academic reading, applied research, critical analysis, independent study, and evidence-based problem solving. Students are encouraged to connect healthcare management theory with real institutional challenges, especially in areas such as hospital efficiency, patient services, healthcare quality, digital transformation, leadership, and organizational performance.
This Master study program is equal to ISCED / EQF Level 7. ISCED means the International Standard Classification of Education, a UNESCO framework used to compare education levels internationally. EQF means the European Qualifications Framework, which helps compare learning outcomes and qualification levels across European education systems. Level 7 generally refers to master-level study, where learners are expected to demonstrate advanced knowledge, specialized skills, critical thinking, and the ability to apply research to professional and academic contexts.
The program carries a workload equal to 60 ECTS and is aligned with the second European cycle. It includes five modules: two research-related modules, two general modules, and one specialized module related to hospital management, in addition to a thesis and research activities. This structure supports both broad academic development and focused specialization in the field of healthcare and hospital administration.
The study duration is 12+ months. There is a minimum duration for completion, while students also have flexibility to extend the study program according to their personal, professional, and academic circumstances, subject to institutional policies and study regulations. This flexible structure makes the program suitable for working professionals who need to balance study with career responsibilities.
The program focuses on advanced and research-based learning in hospital management. Students explore important topics such as healthcare systems, hospital strategy, quality assurance, patient-centered services, healthcare leadership, resource planning, digital healthcare, organizational performance, and ethical management in medical institutions. Through the thesis and research activities, learners are expected to apply academic methods to relevant issues in hospital and healthcare management.
By the end of the program, learners are expected to have a stronger ability to analyze healthcare organizations, evaluate hospital management practices, conduct applied research, and contribute to the improvement of hospital performance, service quality, and patient-focused outcomes.
