Master in History and Languages

This Master study program is a research-focused academic pathway designed for graduates who are passionate about understanding the historical development of societies and the evolution of languages across cultures. It combines advanced historical inquiry with linguistic analysis, enabling students to explore how language shapes identity, power, culture, and global communication.

The program is 100% research based, encouraging independent academic thinking, critical analysis, and original contribution to knowledge. It is structured at a study level equal to EQF Level 7, corresponding to the second cycle of the European Higher Education Area, and carries an academic workload equal to 60 ECTS credits.

The academic structure consists of five modules, carefully balanced to ensure depth and methodological strength:

  • Two research-related modules, focusing on advanced research design, academic writing, methodology, and analytical frameworks.

  • Two general modules, supporting interdisciplinary understanding, critical theory, and broader contextual perspectives.

  • One specialized module in History and Languages, addressing historiography, comparative linguistics, discourse analysis, historical narratives, and cultural interpretation.

  • In addition, students complete a thesis and research activities, demonstrating their ability to conduct independent, structured, and academically rigorous research.

The program duration is +12 months. While there is a minimum study period, students benefit from flexibility and may extend their study timeline to accommodate professional or personal commitments.
