This Master study program in Graphic Design is a 100% research-based academic pathway designed for designers and creative professionals seeking to deepen their theoretical understanding, strategic thinking, and research competence in visual communication and design innovation. Positioned at a study level equal to EQF Level 7, the program corresponds to the Second European Cycle and carries a workload equivalent to 60 ECTS, aligned with international academic standards.

The program explores graphic design as both a creative practice and a scholarly discipline. It examines visual communication theory, typography, branding systems, digital interfaces, motion graphics, user-centered design, and the cultural impact of visual media. Students engage in critical analysis, conceptual development, and design-based research to understand how graphic design shapes communication in contemporary global contexts.

The academic structure consists of five modules, including:

  • Two research-focused modules dedicated to advanced research methodology, design inquiry, academic writing, and visual analysis.

  • Two general modules strengthening critical thinking, interdisciplinary perspectives, and strategic communication frameworks.

  • One specialized module in Graphic Design focusing on advanced visual systems, brand strategy, typography theory, digital design innovation, and contemporary design practices.

The program culminates in a substantial research thesis and structured research activities that demonstrate originality, analytical rigor, and meaningful contribution to the field of graphic design and visual communication.

With a minimum duration of +12 months and flexible extension options, this Master study program is designed to accommodate working designers, art directors, branding specialists, digital creators, and creative strategists who wish to enhance their academic profile while maintaining professional practice.

Graduates develop advanced competencies in design research, conceptual branding, strategic visual communication, digital innovation, and critical design thinking, preparing them for leadership roles in creative industries, agencies, academic environments, and entrepreneurial ventures.
