100% Research-Based | EQF Level 7 | 60 ECTS | Second European Cycle
The Master in Global Sustainable Development and SDG Implementation is an advanced postgraduate program designed to prepare professionals for strategic leadership roles in sustainable development planning, international policy coordination, and implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Fully research-based and academically aligned with EQF Level 7, the program is equivalent to the Second Cycle of European Higher Education and awards 60 ECTS credits.
This program develops advanced expertise in global sustainability frameworks, SDG policy integration, environmental governance, socio-economic transformation strategies, climate action planning, sustainable finance mechanisms, and multi-stakeholder coordination models. Through a strong research orientation, students critically analyze global development challenges, SDG monitoring systems, impact measurement tools, public-private partnership models, and international institutional cooperation. The academic framework ensures that graduates can design evidence-based strategies for implementing sustainability goals at local, national, and global levels.
The academic structure consists of five core modules:
Two research-focused modules dedicated to advanced research methodology, sustainability data analysis, qualitative and quantitative development research, and academic writing.
Two general management modules covering strategic leadership, governance systems, public administration, and global institutional environments.
One specialization module focused specifically on SDG implementation strategies, global sustainable development planning, monitoring and evaluation systems, and international cooperation mechanisms.
The program culminates in a master’s thesis and structured research activities, enabling students to conduct independent research on contemporary topics such as SDG performance measurement, climate resilience policy, sustainable urban development, poverty reduction systems, green economic transition, or international sustainability governance reform. The final research project demonstrates analytical rigor, policy competence, and strategic leadership in sustainability-driven global systems.
The minimum duration is 12 months, with flexibility to extend the study period according to professional commitments. This structure makes the program particularly suitable for development practitioners, policy advisors, sustainability managers, government officials, NGO leaders, and global governance specialists seeking advanced academic qualifications while continuing their careers.
Graduates are prepared for senior roles in international organizations, development agencies, sustainability strategy departments, global policy institutions, and public governance bodies.
