This Master study program is an advanced, 100% research-based academic pathway designed for professionals and graduates who aim to explore the intersection of geomatics, spatial analysis, and European studies within a scientific and policy-oriented framework. Positioned at a level equal to EQF Level 7 and aligned with the second European cycle, the program provides a rigorous academic structure equivalent to 60 ECTS credits.
The Master in Geomatics for European Studies integrates geospatial science with European governance, regional development, environmental policy, cross-border cooperation, and spatial planning. Participants develop strong competencies in geographic information systems (GIS), spatial data analysis, remote sensing applications, territorial intelligence, and evidence-based policy research within the European context. The program emphasizes analytical depth, methodological rigor, and the application of geospatial technologies to support European institutional frameworks, sustainability strategies, and regional innovation systems.
The structure of the program consists of five modules:
Two research-focused modules dedicated to advanced research design, quantitative and qualitative methodologies, spatial modeling, and academic writing.
Two general academic modules that strengthen critical thinking, scientific reasoning, and interdisciplinary integration.
One specialized module focused specifically on geomatics within European studies, addressing European spatial data infrastructures, territorial cohesion, smart regions, environmental monitoring, and policy analytics.
The program culminates in comprehensive thesis and research activities, enabling candidates to produce original, research-driven work that contributes to the field of geomatics and European policy analysis.
With a minimum duration of 12 months and flexible study extension options, this Master study program is designed for working professionals, researchers, and policymakers seeking to enhance their expertise in spatial intelligence and European development frameworks. It supports the development of high-level analytical skills necessary for careers in European institutions, regional authorities, environmental agencies, research centers, and international organizations.
