This Master study program is a 100% research-based academic pathway designed for professionals and graduates who aim to integrate advanced geomatics technologies with strategic environmental management practices. Positioned at a study level equal to EQF Level 7 and aligned with the Second European Cycle, the program emphasizes analytical depth, applied research competence, and interdisciplinary environmental problem-solving.
With a structure of five modules, the program ensures a balanced academic framework: two modules dedicated to advanced research methodologies and academic investigation, two general modules that strengthen analytical, strategic, and scientific competencies, and one specialized module focused specifically on Geomatics for Environmental Management. The academic journey culminates in thesis and structured research activities that demonstrate the candidate’s ability to design, conduct, and present high-level research addressing real-world environmental challenges.
Students explore advanced Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing technologies, spatial data modeling, environmental impact analysis, sustainability planning, and geospatial decision-support systems. The program develops expertise in interpreting complex environmental datasets, designing evidence-based management strategies, and applying geomatics tools to address climate change, land-use planning, biodiversity protection, water resource management, and sustainable urban development.
With a minimum duration of 12 months, the program offers academic flexibility, allowing participants to extend their studies when needed while maintaining rigorous research standards. The workload corresponds to 60 ECTS, reflecting the academic depth and independent research commitment expected at this level.
This Master study program is designed for individuals seeking to strengthen their research profile, enhance strategic environmental planning capabilities, and contribute to sustainable development initiatives at local, national, and international levels.
