This Master study program is a 100% research-based academic pathway designed for educators, curriculum specialists, academic coordinators, and professionals committed to advancing excellence in primary education. Positioned at a study level equal to EQF Level 7 and aligned with the Second Cycle of the European Higher Education Area, the program carries an academic workload equivalent to 60 ECTS.

The Master in Education Studies (Primary) provides an in-depth exploration of teaching, learning, and leadership within primary education contexts. It emphasizes evidence-based pedagogical practices, curriculum development, assessment strategies, inclusive classroom environments, and child-centered learning approaches. The program critically examines how educational systems, policy frameworks, digital transformation, and social diversity influence primary schooling at local and global levels.

Structured around five modules, the program includes:

  • Two research-focused modules dedicated to advanced research design, qualitative and quantitative methodologies, data analysis, and academic writing.

  • Two general academic modules that strengthen theoretical foundations, critical reflection, and interdisciplinary perspectives in education.

  • One specialized module specifically focused on Primary Education Studies, addressing curriculum innovation, classroom management, inclusive practices, literacy and numeracy development, and contemporary challenges in primary schooling.

In addition, participants engage in independent research and thesis-related academic activities, culminating in an original scholarly contribution to the field of primary education.

With a minimum duration of 12 months, the program offers flexibility, allowing students to extend their study period according to professional and personal commitments. This flexible research-oriented structure makes the program particularly suitable for practicing teachers and educational leaders seeking to combine academic advancement with practical impact in primary school settings.

Graduates of this Master study program are prepared to contribute to primary schools, educational research institutions, curriculum development bodies, ministries of education, NGOs, and international organizations focused on foundational learning and child-centered education. The program fosters advanced analytical skills, ethical research practice, and the ability to design, evaluate, and lead high-quality primary education initiatives that support lifelong learning foundations.
