This doctorate study program is designed for scholars, professional translators, linguists, and academic researchers who aim to contribute original knowledge to the evolving field of translation studies. Positioned at a study level equal to EQF Level 8 and aligned with the 3rd European cycle, the program emphasizes advanced theoretical inquiry, interdisciplinary analysis, and high-level research competence in multilingual communication.

As a 100% research-based program, it supports candidates in developing innovative research that addresses contemporary challenges in translation theory, applied translation, intercultural communication, terminology management, audiovisual translation, localization, digital translation technologies, and the impact of artificial intelligence on translation practices. The program encourages critical reflection on linguistic, cultural, political, and technological dimensions shaping global communication.

The academic structure consists of seven modules, including four research-focused modules dedicated to advanced research design, qualitative and quantitative methodologies, academic publishing, and scholarly dissemination. Two general modules strengthen interdisciplinary thinking, ethics in research, and academic leadership. One specialized module concentrates specifically on advanced translation studies, enabling candidates to deepen expertise in their chosen thematic area. The program culminates in extensive thesis and research activities that demonstrate independent, original, and internationally relevant scholarly contribution.

With a minimum duration of 18 months, participants benefit from flexibility to extend their research period according to the depth and scope of their academic project. The program is designed to accommodate experienced professionals and researchers seeking to balance academic advancement with professional commitments.

Graduates of this doctorate study program are prepared to pursue academic careers, high-level consultancy roles, policy advisory positions, leadership in translation institutions, or advanced research roles in international organizations, publishing houses, media institutions, and global enterprises. By combining rigorous methodology, theoretical depth, and contemporary relevance, the Doctorate in Translation Studies equips scholars to shape the future of multilingual and intercultural communication in a rapidly globalizing world.
