This doctorate study program is a 100% research-based academic pathway designed for senior professionals, researchers, sustainability strategists, and industry leaders who aim to generate original knowledge and drive systemic transformation within the global fashion sector. Positioned at a study level equal to EQF Level 8 and aligned with the Third Cycle of the European Higher Education Area, the program reflects the highest level of independent research, critical inquiry, and strategic leadership.

The Doctorate in Sustainable Fashion Management addresses the complex environmental, social, and economic challenges facing the fashion industry. It enables candidates to explore advanced topics such as circular fashion systems, sustainable supply chain governance, ethical sourcing, ESG integration in fashion corporations, sustainable luxury strategy, textile innovation, climate impact mitigation, and regulatory frameworks shaping responsible fashion markets.

The academic structure consists of seven modules, carefully designed to ensure methodological rigor and field specialization:

  • Four research-focused modules dedicated to advanced research design, epistemology, quantitative and qualitative methodologies, academic writing, publication strategy, and research impact assessment.

  • Two general modules strengthening strategic leadership, global policy analysis, sustainability governance, ethics, innovation management, and organizational transformation.

  • One specialized module in Sustainable Fashion Management, focusing on circular production models, sustainable textiles, responsible branding, digital transparency in supply chains, ESG frameworks in fashion, and sustainable business model innovation.

The program culminates in a substantial original research project supported by structured research activities, enabling candidates to contribute meaningful academic and professional insights that advance sustainability within the fashion ecosystem.

With a minimum duration of 18 months, the program offers flexibility, allowing participants to extend their study period when necessary to balance research commitments with professional responsibilities.

This doctorate study program is particularly suitable for fashion executives, sustainability directors, policy advisors, textile innovators, luxury brand strategists, consultants, and academic researchers seeking to influence sustainable transformation at institutional, industry, and global levels.

By integrating academic excellence, interdisciplinary sustainability science, and advanced fashion management strategy, the Doctorate in Sustainable Fashion Management prepares graduates to become thought leaders and high-level advisors capable of shaping responsible innovation and long-term value creation in the international fashion industry.
