This doctorate study program is designed for senior nursing leaders, healthcare executives, and academic researchers who aim to advance strategic leadership and generate original research within services dedicated to children and young people. Positioned at a study level equal to EQF Level 8 and aligned with the Third European Cycle, the program reflects the highest academic standards and advanced research expectations in pediatric and youth healthcare management.

As a 100% research-based program, it prepares independent scholars capable of producing innovative and evidence-based contributions that strengthen healthcare systems serving infants, children, and adolescents. Participants critically examine complex issues such as pediatric service governance, safeguarding and child protection frameworks, adolescent health policy, quality assurance systems, interdisciplinary leadership, workforce strategy, and sustainable healthcare models for younger populations.

The academic structure consists of seven carefully integrated modules designed to ensure methodological excellence and specialized expertise:

  • Four research-focused modules developing advanced competencies in research philosophy, qualitative and quantitative methodologies, healthcare analytics, scholarly writing, and academic publication at the highest level.

  • Two general modules strengthening strategic leadership, institutional governance, global healthcare management, and advanced policy analysis.

  • One specialized module in Nursing Management (Children and Young People) addressing leadership of pediatric services, management of complex and chronic childhood conditions, safeguarding strategies, risk management, innovation in child and adolescent healthcare delivery, and performance optimization in specialized healthcare environments.

The program culminates in a comprehensive thesis and structured research activities, enabling candidates to generate substantial and original insights that contribute to the advancement of nursing leadership and healthcare management for children and young people.

With a minimum duration of 18 months and flexible study pathways, participants may extend their academic progression according to their professional responsibilities and research scope. This doctorate study program is a strategic pathway for experienced professionals committed to shaping pediatric and youth healthcare systems, enhancing evidence-based leadership, and influencing health policy development at national and international levels.
