This doctorate study program is a 100% research-based academic pathway designed for experienced professionals, researchers, and academic leaders who seek to advance scientific knowledge in mental health psychology and contribute to evidence-based practice at national and international levels. The Doctorate in Mental Health Psychology is academically positioned at a level equal to EQF Level 8 and aligned with the third cycle of the European Higher Education framework.

Mental health psychology plays a critical role in understanding cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and social determinants of psychological well-being. In a world shaped by rapid social change, technological influence, global crises, trauma exposure, and rising mental health concerns, advanced research is essential to develop effective interventions and sustainable mental health systems. This program focuses on cultivating independent scholars capable of generating original research that informs clinical frameworks, community strategies, and policy development.

The academic structure consists of seven modules designed to ensure intellectual rigor and methodological depth. Four modules are dedicated to advanced research methodology, research philosophy, quantitative and qualitative analysis, psychometric evaluation, statistical modeling, and academic publishing. These modules equip candidates with the tools required to conduct high-level psychological research and contribute to scholarly discourse.

Two general modules strengthen advanced theoretical foundations in psychology, ethical leadership in mental health practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and strategic development of mental health services. One specialized module focuses specifically on Mental Health Psychology, addressing advanced psychopathology, trauma and resilience studies, developmental and lifespan mental health, neuropsychological perspectives, community mental health models, prevention strategies, and culturally informed psychological practice.

The program culminates in a comprehensive thesis and structured research activities, where candidates conduct an original investigation into a contemporary issue in mental health psychology. Through this process, participants demonstrate scientific independence, analytical sophistication, and the ability to produce research that advances psychological theory and informs professional practice.

With a minimum duration of 18 months and flexibility for extension, the program is structured to accommodate professionals balancing academic advancement with leadership or clinical responsibilities. It is particularly suitable for senior psychologists, researchers, clinical supervisors, mental health policy advisors, educators, and practitioners aiming to contribute at the highest academic and strategic levels.

Graduates of this doctorate study program are prepared to contribute to academic institutions, research centers, healthcare systems, policy environments, and international mental health initiatives. They develop the expertise to design innovative research projects, evaluate psychological interventions, influence mental health frameworks, and strengthen evidence-based mental health systems globally.

The Doctorate in Mental Health Psychology represents an advanced research journey dedicated to expanding scientific understanding of mental well-being and fostering resilient, informed, and sustainable mental health systems.
