The Doctorate in Law and Arabic is a 100% research-based doctorate study program designed for advanced scholars, legal professionals, academics, and policy experts who seek to contribute original and impactful knowledge at the intersection of legal systems and the Arabic language. This doctorate study program is academically positioned at a level equal to EQF Level 8 and corresponds to the 3rd European cycle of higher education.

The program is structured to develop high-level independent research capacity, critical legal analysis, and advanced academic scholarship within Arabic legal and multilingual contexts. It emphasizes the interaction between law and the Arabic language in areas such as comparative law, Arabic legal terminology, legislative drafting, judicial interpretation, legal translation, Sharia-based and civil law systems, cross-border legal communication, and international legal frameworks.

The academic framework consists of seven modules, including:

  • Four research-focused modules dedicated to advanced research methodology, qualitative and quantitative legal research, academic publishing strategies, and scholarly dissemination.

  • Two general modules designed to strengthen academic leadership, research ethics, interdisciplinary competence, and strategic scholarly development.

  • One specialized module in Law and Arabic, concentrating on Arabic legal discourse, comparative legal systems, terminology analysis, and professional applications within governmental, judicial, and international environments.

The program culminates in an original research thesis and structured research activities aimed at producing meaningful scholarly contributions to the fields of law and Arabic studies.

The minimum duration of this doctorate study program is +18 months, with flexibility allowing candidates to extend their research timeline according to professional and academic commitments.

Graduates of this doctorate study program are prepared for advanced roles in academia, international organizations, legislative institutions, diplomatic services, high-level legal consultancy, policy development, and research leadership within Arabic-speaking and global contexts.
