The Doctorate in International Finance and Accounting is a 100% research-based academic pathway designed for senior finance professionals, chief financial officers, auditors, consultants, policymakers, and academic researchers who aim to contribute advanced knowledge to global financial systems and accounting governance.

This doctorate study program is positioned at a level equivalent to EQF Level 8 and corresponds to the third European cycle of higher education. It is structured to cultivate independent scholarly research, critical financial analysis, and high-level expertise in international financial management and accounting standards.

The program consists of seven structured modules, carefully organized to guide candidates from advanced theoretical foundations to the development of original research:

  • Four research-focused modules covering advanced research methodology, quantitative and qualitative analysis, financial modeling, data interpretation, academic publishing, and research ethics.

  • Two general modules that enhance interdisciplinary understanding, global governance perspectives, regulatory frameworks, and strategic leadership in financial environments.

  • One specialized module dedicated to International Finance and Accounting, addressing global capital markets, international financial reporting standards, risk management, cross-border taxation, financial sustainability, and corporate accountability.

The program culminates in the preparation of an original doctoral thesis supported by structured research activities and academic supervision. Candidates are expected to produce meaningful scholarly contributions that address contemporary challenges in international finance, global accounting harmonization, digital financial transformation, and sustainable financial governance.

With a minimum duration of 18+ months, the program offers flexibility for experienced professionals balancing research with executive responsibilities. While a minimum study period is defined, candidates may extend their research timeline to ensure academic depth, analytical rigor, and practical relevance.

This doctorate study program is designed for financial leaders and researchers who seek to influence international financial policy, strengthen global accounting standards, and contribute to the advancement of transparent, resilient, and sustainable financial systems worldwide.
