This doctorate study program is a 100% research-based academic pathway designed for experienced educators, academic leaders, curriculum experts, policymakers, and researchers who seek to generate original knowledge and transformative impact in the field of Primary Education. Positioned at a study level equal to EQF Level 8 and aligned with the Third Cycle of the European Higher Education Area, the program represents the highest level of academic specialization and independent scholarly inquiry.

The Doctorate in Education Studies (Primary) critically examines the foundations, structures, and future directions of primary education systems. It emphasizes advanced theoretical frameworks, evidence-based practice, curriculum innovation, inclusive education, assessment design, literacy and numeracy development, and leadership in primary school contexts. The program encourages rigorous analysis of how social change, digital transformation, global policy trends, and equity considerations influence learning outcomes in the formative years of schooling.

The academic structure consists of seven modules, including:

  • Four research-focused modules dedicated to advanced research design, epistemology, qualitative and quantitative methodologies, academic publishing, and scholarly impact.

  • Two general doctoral-level modules aimed at strengthening critical theory, interdisciplinary analysis, and research leadership in education.

  • One specialized module focused specifically on advanced Primary Education Studies, addressing curriculum reform, classroom innovation, inclusive practices, foundational skills development, and international benchmarks in primary education.

In addition, candidates engage in comprehensive research activities and the development of an original doctoral thesis, contributing new insights and strategic solutions to enhance quality, equity, and effectiveness in primary education systems.

With a minimum duration of 18 months, the program offers flexibility, allowing candidates to extend their study period in alignment with professional, academic, and personal commitments. This flexible structure makes the program particularly suitable for senior teachers, school leaders, education consultants, ministry officials, and researchers seeking to influence primary education policy and practice at national and international levels.

Graduates of this doctorate study program are prepared to assume leadership roles in universities, research institutes, ministries of education, curriculum authorities, international organizations, and policy advisory bodies.
