The Doctorate in Diplomacy and International Relations is a 100% research-based doctorate study program designed for senior diplomats, policymakers, international advisors, government officials, strategic analysts, and global affairs professionals who seek to influence international systems through advanced research and strategic insight.

This doctorate study program is academically positioned at a level equivalent to EQF Level 8, aligned with the 3rd European cycle, and is structured to develop high-level research competence, geopolitical analysis skills, and strategic leadership in international relations and diplomacy.

Academic Structure

The doctorate study program consists of 7 structured modules, designed to progressively build advanced research mastery and specialized expertise:

  • 4 Research-Focused Modules Covering advanced qualitative and quantitative methodologies, geopolitical analysis, comparative international systems, academic writing, publication strategies, and research ethics.

  • 2 General Modules Focused on global political economy, strategic leadership, institutional governance, international policy frameworks, and multilateral cooperation mechanisms.

  • 1 Specialized Module in Diplomacy and International Relations Dedicated to diplomatic theory and practice, negotiation strategies, foreign policy formulation, conflict mediation, global institutions, and international security architecture.

The program culminates in a doctoral thesis and research activities, enabling participants to produce original, high-level scholarly work that contributes to global diplomatic and international relations discourse.


Duration and Flexibility

The minimum duration of the program is 18 months, with flexibility for participants to extend their study period according to research depth and professional commitments. This structure makes the program particularly suitable for experienced professionals engaged in governmental, intergovernmental, or international organizational roles.
