This doctorate study program is a 100% research-based academic pathway designed for senior professionals, researchers, and academic scholars who seek advanced specialization in the structure, transformation, and global influence of the Chinese economy. Positioned at a study level equal to EQF Level 8 and aligned with the 3rd European cycle, the program represents the highest level of academic research and intellectual development within the European qualifications framework.

The program is structured to cultivate independent research capacity, advanced analytical thinking, and original scholarly contribution. It consists of seven modules: four research-focused modules that strengthen advanced research design, econometric and policy analysis, comparative economic systems evaluation, and academic publication strategies; two general modules that enhance interdisciplinary economic perspectives, strategic thinking, and advanced scholarly communication; and one specialized module dedicated exclusively to in-depth study of the Chinese economy, including development models, industrial transformation, financial systems, trade policy, digital economy growth, and China’s evolving role in global economic governance.

The program concludes with comprehensive thesis and research activities that demonstrate the candidate’s ability to conduct rigorous independent research and generate meaningful contributions to the field of Chinese economic studies. Emphasis is placed on critical evaluation of economic reforms, macroeconomic policy frameworks, global trade integration, regional development strategies, and China’s position within international economic systems.

With a minimum structured duration of +18 months, the program provides academic flexibility, allowing participants to extend their study timeline according to the scope and depth of their research. This structure makes it particularly suitable for experienced professionals, policy advisors, economists, consultants, and academic researchers who aim to combine advanced doctoral research with ongoing professional responsibilities.

This doctorate study program prepares participants for leadership roles in academia, economic policy development, international trade organizations, financial institutions, multinational corporations, and global research centers. Graduates are equipped to analyze complex economic dynamics, publish scholarly research, and contribute to high-level economic strategy and decision-making processes with a strong focus on China’s economic landscape.
