The Doctorate in Blockchain and Digital Assets (International Focus) is a 100% research-based doctorate study program designed for professionals, innovators, and researchers who seek to explore and shape the future of decentralized technologies and digital value systems. As blockchain continues to redefine finance, governance, supply chains, and digital ownership, this program equips participants with the advanced research capabilities and strategic insight required to understand, evaluate, and lead developments in this transformative field.

This doctorate study program is aligned with ISCED and EQF Level 8, representing the highest level within international and European qualification frameworks. The International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED) provides a globally recognized structure for categorizing education levels, ensuring comparability across countries. The European Qualifications Framework (EQF) defines learning outcomes in terms of knowledge, skills, and competencies. At Level 8, participants are expected to demonstrate highly specialized expertise, critical and independent thinking, and the ability to produce original research that contributes to academic and professional advancement. This level is also equivalent to the third cycle of higher education in Europe.

The program is structured into seven modules designed to balance deep research with practical relevance. Four modules are dedicated to advanced research methodologies, theoretical models, and the development of independent research skills. These modules enable participants to design and conduct high-quality research focused on blockchain technologies and digital asset ecosystems.

In addition, two general modules focus on broader competencies such as strategic leadership, digital governance, regulatory frameworks, and ethical considerations in decentralized systems. These modules ensure that participants gain a comprehensive understanding of the wider implications of blockchain adoption across industries and societies.

The final module is specialized in blockchain and digital assets, covering key topics such as distributed ledger technologies, smart contracts, tokenization, decentralized finance (DeFi), digital currencies, and blockchain governance. This module bridges theory and real-world application, preparing participants to engage with complex digital infrastructures and emerging financial systems.

A central component of the program is the thesis and research activities, where participants undertake independent, in-depth research addressing current challenges and opportunities in blockchain and digital assets. Through this process, they are expected to develop innovative frameworks, models, or strategies that contribute to both academic knowledge and practical implementation.

The duration of the program is a minimum of 18 months, with flexible study pathways that allow participants to extend their research timeline according to their professional commitments and research progress. This flexibility makes the program particularly suitable for experienced professionals aiming to advance their expertise while maintaining active roles in their respective fields.

Overall, this doctorate study program is designed for forward-thinking individuals who aim to lead innovation in blockchain technologies, shape digital asset strategies, and contribute to the global digital economy through advanced research and strategic insight.
