This Master study program is a 100% research-based academic pathway designed for graduates and professionals seeking advanced scholarly engagement in the field of Religious Studies. Positioned at a study level equal to EQF Level 7 and aligned with the second European cycle, the program emphasizes critical inquiry, comparative analysis, and interdisciplinary research within religious traditions, beliefs, and practices across cultures and historical periods.
The academic structure consists of five integrated modules: two research-focused modules dedicated to advanced research design, qualitative and textual methodologies, hermeneutics, academic writing, and analytical frameworks; two general modules aimed at strengthening interdisciplinary understanding, ethics, philosophy, and the broader social sciences context; and one specialized module concentrating on core themes in Religious Studies, including theology, comparative religion, history of religions, interfaith dialogue, and contemporary religious thought. These components culminate in thesis and structured research activities that demonstrate the candidate’s capacity for independent scholarly investigation and critical analysis.
With a minimum duration of 12 months and flexible extension options, the program is designed to accommodate both full-time learners and working professionals. The academic workload is equivalent to 60 ECTS, ensuring compatibility with European higher education standards and facilitating international academic recognition.
The Master in Religious Studies supports the development of advanced competencies in textual interpretation, comparative religious analysis, academic research, and scholarly communication. It prepares participants for doctoral-level progression, academic research careers, roles in interfaith and cultural dialogue, policy advisory contexts, and leadership positions within educational and religious institutions.
