The program is suitable for students and professionals who wish to understand how banking systems are changing through innovation, regulation, data, digital platforms, payment technologies, blockchain, artificial intelligence, and financial transformation.
This Master study program is 100% research based, which means that students focus on reading, analysis, applied research, academic writing, case studies, and independent investigation rather than traditional classroom-based examinations. The program helps learners build strong analytical skills and understand banking and FinTech from both academic and practical perspectives.
The study level is equal to ISCED / EQF Level 7. ISCED means the International Standard Classification of Education, used globally to compare education levels. EQF means the European Qualifications Framework, which helps compare qualifications across Europe. Level 7 normally refers to advanced Master-level learning, where students are expected to demonstrate critical thinking, specialized knowledge, research ability, and problem-solving skills.
The program is structured around 5 modules, including 2 research-related modules, 2 general management or academic-development modules, and 1 specialized module focused on Banking and FinTech. In addition, students complete a thesis and research activities, allowing them to explore a relevant topic in digital banking, financial innovation, financial regulation, or technology-driven financial services.
The duration is 12+ months. While there is a minimum study period, students have flexibility to extend the program according to their personal, professional, and research progress. The program is equal to 60 ECTS and corresponds to the 2nd European cycle.
Through this Master study program, learners can develop a deeper understanding of the future of banking, the role of FinTech in financial inclusion, the transformation of payment systems, digital risk management, financial regulation, cybersecurity in finance, and the strategic impact of technology on banking institutions. It is especially relevant for those interested in banking leadership, digital finance, financial consultancy, compliance, innovation management, and research in financial technologies.
