This Master study program is a 100% research-based academic pathway designed for graduates, scholars, and professionals who seek advanced engagement with the intellectual traditions of Islamic Philosophy. Structured at a level equal to EQF Level 7, aligned with the second European cycle, and carrying an academic workload equal to 60 ECTS, the program provides rigorous scholarly training grounded in research, analysis, and critical inquiry.
The program explores the development of philosophical thought within the Islamic intellectual heritage, including metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, logic, political philosophy, theology–philosophy debates, and the interaction between reason and revelation. It also examines the works of major classical and later thinkers, as well as the contemporary relevance of Islamic philosophical discourse in modern academic and global contexts.
Academic Structure
The program consists of five modules, carefully designed to foster research depth and analytical excellence:
Two research-related modules focusing on advanced research methodology, academic writing, textual analysis, critical interpretation, and comparative philosophical inquiry.
Two general modules aimed at strengthening interdisciplinary understanding, philosophical foundations, intellectual history, and global perspectives in humanities research.
One specialized module in Islamic Philosophy, addressing central themes such as ontology, cosmology, ethics, rational theology, philosophy of law, and cross-cultural philosophical dialogue.
The program culminates in a comprehensive thesis and structured research activities that demonstrate independent scholarly contribution, conceptual clarity, and advanced critical thinking.
